Volunteer to prepare and serve meals at Daybreak with St. Raymond parishioners at Catholic Charities' Daybreak Center.

Breakfast and dinner is served to the residents of the shelter and then lunch for the entire community, known as Shepherd's Table.

St. Raymond parishioners can participate regularly, or randomly as available.  

Breakfast shifts begin at 5am for preparation.  Serving the guests of the shelter concludes at 7am.

Lunch shifts with Shepherd's Table begin at 9am with prep and service to the community concludes at 12:30pm.  The shifts can be split; prep only from 9-11, and service only from 11-12:30.

Dinner shifts begin at 6pm for prep and service concludes for the shelter guests at 8pm.

Guests of the shelter are responsible for clean up.

Food is usually provided by Daybreak or the Cathedral.

Volunteers meet at the Daybreak Family Support Center at 611 E. Cass St., Joliet.

Plenty of Ways to Help Out...

- Volunteer to prepare and/or serve a meal on one of our assigned days (Not sure of your meal prep skills? No worry someone from Daybrak or another volunteer will be present to give direction)

- Make a financial contribution to St. Ray's specifically directed at this program so we can buy supplies to prepare meals

- Prepare a main dish or dessert on your own and deliver it to church

It is important to note that signing up does not necessarily mean a monthly commitment.  It can be, but you can also sign up once, or once in a while.
