The Cathedral of St. Raymond School is home to a caring and nurturing Early Childhood Prograom (ECP). Children who have turned three or four by September 1st are eligible to enroll in the ECP. The ECP is taught by four caring and nurturing certified teachers. In addition to our ECP teaching staff, we have seven loving teaching assistants who work with our three and four year olds. This program has several options to best meet the needs of our children and their families.
Our ECP has a half day option for three year olds and four year olds. This program meets three mornings a week (M,W,F) and five mornings a week (M-F) for our four year olds. Students enrolled in these programs are taught by a certified teacher and teaching assistant and are limited to 15-18 students. The focus of these programs centers on socialization and academic skills that prepare the children to enter kindergarten. The children enrolled in these programs attend gym class, art class, music class, and technology class one time a week.
Our ECP has a full day option for three and four year olds. This program meets during regular school hours. Our four year olds attend five days a week and our three year olds have the option of attending all five days or three days (M,W,F). In addition, children in the full day program also eat lunch in our cafeteria, have a rest time, and go outside for recess (weather permitting).

We are forntunate to have a certiied speical education teacher on staff, as well as support from a District 86 speical education teacher. Together, these teachers work directly with students and teachers to provide reading and math interventions for students identified as needing additional academic support.
In addition to our special education teachers, we have a full-time Wilson Reading Interventionist who works with our kindergarten-third grade students providing Wilson Reading Tutoring.
This team approach assures that all students at the Cathedral of St. Raymond School find academic success in the classroom.

Students identified as high level learners by using standardized testing, teacher recommendation and classroom performance, are included in our Enrichment Program. We currently have two certified teachers working with our enrichment students in reading and math. These teachers push into the classrooms and extend the general curriculum to meet the unique needs of these high-level learners, as well as pull them out for small group work.

All students at St. Raymond School attend "specials". This starts with our earliest learners in ECP all the way through 8th grade. The students in our school attend music class and physical education class twice a week, and art class, technology class, and library (K-5) each week.
In addition to the times that students attend specials, our dedicated specials teachers work closely with the classroom teachers to bring art, music, and technology alive within the classrooms as well. All of our homeroom teachers incorporate art and music into the general curriculum, as well as daily technology lessons.
