Peace and Justice is a new ministry to St. Raymond’s where members respond to the social teachings of the church, promoting a world of charity and justice. This group’s focus is to educate people on what is going on in the world today regarding various topics. For example, our Peace and Justice committee has recently asked for letters to be sent to Congress asking for legilation to bring about a more just distribution of the world’s food supply.
Peace and Justice is also promoting the purchase of items that carry the Fair Trade symbol. By purchasing these products such as coffee, teas, chocolate, rice and sugar you are helping ensure that producers of these products are earning a fair, living wage for their goods and receiving the training and resources needed to preserve their local environments and invest in their communities.
