Cathedral High School Choir

fostering faith and the love of sacred music

We are delighted to announce the creation of a new choral ensemble for the Cathedral:  Cathedral High School Choir.

This choral ensemble will sing once per month at the Saturday 5:00pm Vigil Mass, preparing the sacred music for these liturgies from 3:45-4:45 on that Saturday prior to Mass.  This ensemble is intended to engage our parishioners in grades 9-12 in fostering superior musicianship, healthy vocal technique, and strong Catholic spirituality through the preparation of sacred music from the parish’s repertoire, including traditional hymnody, lighter styles of song, and service music.

This ensemble’s schedule is intended for youth who would like to participate in sacred music ministry, but are unable to commit for weekly rehearsals.

Singing in choirs is a wonderful way to cultivate friendships while developing communication abilities, confidence, and leadership skills. It is hoped that youth participating in this choir would consider leadership and participation with the Cathedral Children’s Choir if their schedules permit.  In this way, they will develop the tools and techniques for singing choral repertoire as well.

  • Open to all interested singers of high school age.
