Mrs. Jacoby

Fourth Grade

Welcome!  My name is Tara Jacoby and this is my fifth year teaching 4th grade at St. Raymond School!  I grew up attending St. Anthony School in Streator, Illinois.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.  I have a minor in Psychology, with endorsements in Language Arts and Social Science.  After graduating from NIU, I substituted in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas while supporting my husband's NFL career. After our children were school age, I provided additional support across multiple grade levels as a paraprofessional and a reading teacher in the diocese.  As the reading teacher, I taught enrichment and intervention small groups and was a part of the Response to Intervention (RtI) Team.  I also spent time as a member of a special education team working one-on-one with a special needs student.
As a fourth grade teacher, I enjoy seeing the eagerness the students show for learning. The amount of growth is evident, and responsibility is seen through the students hard work in presenting the Living Stations.
My husband Mitch and I reside with our three children in Shorewood.  Our daughter Makenna, is a freshman at Illinois Wesleyan University and our son, Logan, is a junior at Minooka Community High School.  Carson is a 7th grader here at St. Raymond.  My husband and I value the education that is provided at St. Ray's  Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my children participate in their sports.  I also enjoy golfing, kayaking, traveling, and spending time with friends.
