Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus

welcome parishioners, friends and visitors!

Thank you for your interest in the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus, mother church of the Diocese of Joliet. Whether you are just visiting us for a brief time, looking for a new parish home, returning to the practice of your Catholic faith, or interested in finding out more about the Catholic Church, you are welcome here. To learn more about us, please take a few minutes to view our informational video to the left.

Saint Raymond Parish was founded in 1917, and as Cathedral Church is both the Diocesan Seat and a thriving parish of approximately 2,100 families from throughout Will County.

The Cathedral has an elementary school which provides outstanding Catholic education for more than 500 children in preschool and Kindergarten through Grade 8. For more information about the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Grade School, please visit straymond.net/school.

The Cathedral Religious Education Program serves more than 200 students in Kindergarten through 8th.

The Cathedral parish is led by the Very Rev. Brad Baker, sixth Rector of the Cathedral.  Since being named Rector in 2008, Fr. Brad has been committed to fostering a warm and welcoming environment for the current parish community, as well as for those looking for a parish home.

As the Diocesan Seat, the Cathedral is proud to host more than two dozen diocesan liturgical celebrations each year including Adult Confirmation, Ordination, Chrism Mass, and the annual Marriage Anniversary Mass. For more information and schedules, please visit the new website for the Diocese of Joliet at www.dioceseofjoliet.org

One of the richest blessings of the Cathedral parish family is its strong sense of tradition. From its original founding as a parish community in 1917, Saint Raymond has been the parish home for generations of families who take great pride in our faith and the sense of tradition that has permeated our history.

The Cathedral community is always growing as we welcome new individuals and families to take their place in our parish faith story. Whether you can trace your lineage back to one of our founding families, or you are new to our community, there is a home for you at the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus. God is calling each of us to reclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as lived out in the Catholic Church. Here at the Cathedral you will discover priests, deacons, a pastoral staff, and a faith community eager to help you become part of our Catholic community.

We hope to see you soon and look forward to answering any questions you might have. In the meantime, here are some resources available to you:
