About us

Thank you for your interest in the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus, mother church of the Diocese of Joliet.

Whether you are just visiting us for a brief time, looking for a new parish home, returning to the practice of your Catholic faith, or interested in finding out more about the Catholic Church, you are welcome here.

Saint Raymond Parish was founded in 1917, and as Cathedral Church is both the Diocesan Seat and a thriving parish of approximately 2,100 families from throughout Will County.

The Cathedral has an elementary school which provides outstanding Catholic education for more than 500 children in preschool through Grade 8.

The Cathedral Religious Education Program serves more than 150 students in pre-school through Grade 8.

As the Diocesan Seat, the Cathedral is proud to host more than two dozen diocesan liturgical celebrations each year including Adult Confirmation, Ordination, Chrism Mass, and the annual Marriage Anniversary Mass. For more information and schedules, please visit www.dioceseofjoliet.org

One of the richest blessings of the Cathedral parish family is its strong sense of tradition. From its original founding as a parish community in 1917, Saint Raymond has been the parish home for generations of families who take great pride in our faith and the sense of tradition that has permeated our history.

The Cathedral community is always growing as we welcome new individuals and families to take their place in our parish faith story. Whether you can trace your lineage back to one of our founding families, or you are new to our community, there is a home for you at the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus.

God is calling each of us to reclaim our faith in Jesus Christ as lived out in the Catholic Church. Here at the Cathedral you will discover priests, deacons, a pastoral staff, and a faith community eager to help you become part of our Catholic community.
