Katie attended Lewis University where she played center field on the softball diamond, helping her team get to the Women’s College World Series twice while she earned her Bachelors Degree in History and Education and then later earned her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.
Katie served as a teacher at St. Dominic in Bolingbrook, All Saints Catholic Academy in Naperville, and at Washington School in Schiller Park, where she also served as interim principal.
After the birth of their first two children, Katie began to minister here at St. Raymond under Christine Pershey in the Office of Faith Formation from 2014-2021.
In the spring of 2021, Katie moved on to work with Fr. Burke Masters in the Diocesan Office for Adult Formation where she co-founded and co-lead the Be Formed discipleship program for its first 7 seasons.
After Bishop Hicks restructured the diocesan offices, she served as the Life Long Lay Formation Lead for the Diocesan Office of Catechesis and Evangelization. God then asked Katie to move to St Isaac Jogues in Hinsdale to serve as their Director of Evangelization for a short period of time before returning home to focus on her family.
Katie currently serves as a presenter for the St. Catherine of Siena Institute’s Called and Gifted program. She also presents days of reflection for teachers through the Catholic Schools Office and to various parishes and groups in our diocese and beyond.
She has written a collection of reflections for teachers for Liturgy Training Publications in Chicago. Her primary vocation is wife to Mushtaq and homeschooling mother to their three children Anthony, Maria, and Joey.
Katie’s happy to be home to serve as Director of Religious Education here at St. Raymond. Come Holy Spirit!
